01Agree the visual world
We start with the text, intended age group, emotional tone, and format. Style exploration establishes the degree of detail, palette, and visual references. Character sheets help recurring figures stay consistent across scenes, expressions, and changes of perspective.
02Plan the sequence before the finish
Thumbnails and rough sketches reveal pacing and composition before detailed artwork begins. For comics and graphic novels, this includes panels, speech placement, and transitions. Reviewing at this stage makes substantial changes easier than revising finished illustrations.
03Create artwork for its destination
Final dimensions, bleed, color handling, and text-safe areas are planned around the intended print or digital format. Editorial illustrations and promotional adaptations may need different crops. Usage rights, credits, and source files are defined in the agreement.
